Ben and Leann

This was a fun and interesting wedding to coordinate.  I drove to Montgomery, TX and was introduced to a beautiful, lakeside resort called La Toretta.  It is a great place to host a wedding, and the staff were all so professional and helpful.  The amazing flowers were provided by Secret Floral Garden and we were entertained by DJU Productions.  All photos were captured by Niki Greg and the beautiful linens came from Elegant Beginnings.  La Toretta cooked the delicious meal and we were treated to delectable  cakes by Sweets to Dream On.  Montgomery is somewhat centrally located between Houston, College Station and other surrounding cities, so the vendors were from various cities.

There were two aspects that made this wedding interesting and unique in my mind.  One was that the venue scheduled two weddings at the same time because they have various wedding sites available on their resort.  The other wedding was supposed to take place on the golf course, but there was rain in the forecast, so the other couple decided to hold theirs inside.  Our ceremony site was right on the lake, and there is a large ballroom right next to it with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the lake and our ceremony site.  La Toretta put draping over the windows so that the other wedding guests couldn't see through to our ceremony, but it was still very interesting to have two ceremonies that close in proximity to each other at exactly the same time.  The other aspect that made this ceremony unique was that there were 9 sets of grandparents.  During our final consultation, we spent quite a bit of time figuring out how to seat everyone and where.  Then, at the rehearsal, the weather was quite cold and windy, and it got dark really quickly and not all the grandparents were present that night. I felt a little nervous about the seating of the grandparents part of the ceremony since we didn't get to practice it fully and with everyone present. Therefore, my primary task during the processional was to make sure everyone was lined up and seated correctly.  I was extremely pleased when everyone made it to their places, without any complications.

Even though there were rainclouds looming in the distance, we made the right call by continuing with the outdoor ceremony.  The clouds made perfect lighting for pictures, and it didn't start raining until the end of the after ceremony pictures.

The ceremony and reception went smoothly and without any complications.  I did have to drive home in pouring down rain late at night, but I made it home safely and am grateful to have been a part of this sweet couple's special day!  I wish Ben and Leann all the best! They were a blessing to work with and for!  Enjoy the pictures!

Joe and Coleigh

This wedding was one of those extremely special, once in a lifetime opportunities.  My husband and I have known the groom since he was about 15, and we have grown to love him like a son.  When we met the love of his life, we immediately understood why he loves her so much and chose her to be his life long partner.  My husband had the privilege of being the officiant.  This was his very first wedding to officiate!

The event took place at a new venue called The Inn at Quarry Ridge.  I have known the owners for about 8 years now, and it was neat to see their venue and to be a part of making this event happen.  The decorations, food, florals and entertainment were all done by family and friends.  We worked really hard, but the final product was well worth the time and energy.  The pictures on my blog are ones that my kids took, but the actual photographer is Abbie with His Art by Abbie.  The bride's hair and make up was done by the bride's new sister-in-law, Anna.  You can find more about her services on Facebook or Pinterest at Anna Decker Artistry.

Let the photos speak for themselves!
