Rehearsal Dinner

I've been invited to several rehearsal dinners over the years. It always warms my heart when I am asked to join in this intimate gathering of friends and family. I strive to be genuine with my clients and often, I believe, they chose me over other coordinators simply because we "click" and instantly bond. I truly care about each of my clients and tear up almost every time I watch a bride walk down the aisle. I enjoy observing the look on the groom's face as he delightfully watches HIS bride make her way toward him for them to announce to the world (or at least close friend and family) that they are now no longer two, but one flesh. What a great job I have!

Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley Spring Bridal Show 2012

I had a wonderful time today! My friend, and mother my most recent bride, Anne Barnby took material, decorations, collages, photo cubes and books and made the most amazing booth I've ever had.


We constantly had brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the brides and a few grooms coming by the booth. They admired Anne's custom photo creations, they listened to her edifying testimony of the job I did for her and Jenny and I got to share everything I can do to make their special day stress free and perfect. We were so busy, I did not have time to make my usual rounds to meet new vendors as well as say "hello" and hug my vendor friends. I think that's a good problem to have.

Anne and I are working on some ideas to expand and improve upon everything that makes Wonderfully Wed so fabulous! Stay turned for more details!

Jenny and J.B.

I had the privilege of coordinating the wedding of the daughter of a sweet friend last weekend. The ceremony took place at The Greenbranch the evening after a mammoth thunderstorm hit Bryan/College Station causing flooding in several areas of the twin cities. The weather for the ceremony was picture perfect, though. The ground was a little soggy, but nobody minded because the event was so incredibly beautiful.

The bride's favorite colors are orange and brown. So, in line with 2012's trendy wedding color, orange flowers were a large part of the decor. Trisha Barksdale Designs created the amazing bouquets, boutonnieres, cake decor, and corsages. Cakes by Blondie made the beautiful and delicious cake. I had the privilege of working with Jammin' Joe (Jospeh Sanchez) for the first time. He did a great job as the reception's Master of Ceremony. He is very flexible, friendly and easy to work with. I enjoyed meeting him.

Arlina Rose and her husband Chris were the photgraphers. They are fabulous, friendly, energetic and also great to co-labor with. Check out their blog and see for yourself!

Overall, the ceremony ran smoothly. The only glitch was that the best man was missing his vest for his tuxedo, but Men's Wearhouse was quick to meet me halfway and bring the missing vest. They were very accommodating. Casa Rodriguez catered dinner and it was delicious. Lively dancing was included in the reception.

It brings me great joy to be able to coordinate and bring everyone together for the perfect day. All the work is worth it when the bride's mom tells me, "I cannot begin to thank you. You were just what we needed."

Tools to help in the Search for the Perfect Dress

The expedition to find your wedding dress can be frustrating and time consuming. Not every bride's budget will allow her to fly to New York, London or elsewhere to find the best and most stylish dresses available. I found a resource to assist brides in their search for the attire that will make her groom's jaw drop. It is called Dimitra Designs, and is a dress shop based out of South Carolina. However, they also have a webpage which is uniquely categorized to help you decide on that perfect dress. It also advises you in bridesmaid dress selection, jewelry choice, mothers' dresses, accessories and more. They have developed a blog which gives great tips for all sorts of occasions; a successful destination wedding, fabulous photos, choosing flower girl dresses and much more. So check out Dimitra Designs when you are exploring dress selection. Let them aid you in making that method easier, less time consuming, and more affordable.

2012's Trendy Wedding Color

Trendy colors are interesting to me because I love color. One of my favorite aspects of weddings is the colors the bride and groom choose. There are so many hue combinations to choose from in flowers, decor and linens.

According to Pantone's, the 2012 Color of the Year is Tangerine Tango. This color pallete will give you some ideas for colors that will blend and accent this color of the year. It would be perfect for a spring, summer or fall wedding!

The End of the Vintage Wedding Trend

It seems that the wedding trend these days is for brides to have something at their wedding that none of the their guests have seen before. One of these latest trends is having a vintage wedding. According to the Huffington Post (not necessarily the experts on wedding trends ) this movement is now coming to an end. It seems as though it just begun! It just goes to show that it is difficult to completely follow what's fashionable in your wedding, especially when you plan a year or two in advance. What may be trendy when you begin the planning of your wedding, may be completely out of style by the time your big day arrives. Also, that one of a kind event that you plan, such as an ice cream sundae bar, may have become a trend by the time your day arrives and it may not be the first time your guests have experienced it. So, plan your nuptials according to your tastes and preferences. Don't let society dictate what transpires at your wedding. I think when you can let go of those expectations, then your wedding truly will be a one of a kind event.
