Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley Spring Bridal Show 2012

I had a wonderful time today! My friend, and mother my most recent bride, Anne Barnby took material, decorations, collages, photo cubes and books and made the most amazing booth I've ever had.


We constantly had brides, bridesmaids, mothers of the brides and a few grooms coming by the booth. They admired Anne's custom photo creations, they listened to her edifying testimony of the job I did for her and Jenny and I got to share everything I can do to make their special day stress free and perfect. We were so busy, I did not have time to make my usual rounds to meet new vendors as well as say "hello" and hug my vendor friends. I think that's a good problem to have.

Anne and I are working on some ideas to expand and improve upon everything that makes Wonderfully Wed so fabulous! Stay turned for more details!

Spring Bridal Show 2011

Wow! Has it already come and gone? The Bridal Show is an event greatly anticipated by all brides and wedding vendors. Hosted by The Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley, this event allows brides and participating vendors to meet and exchange information. For me, it is a great time to talk to potential customers, meet new vendors as well as catch up with my vendor friends. Over the years, I have gotten to watch their businesses grow and have gleaned from their creativity. It is just a fabulous time. I opted to not participate last year, and although I enjoyed a small break in business activity, I felt a little behind on the times yesterday.

Overall, I feel the show went well for my wedding and invitation business. Upon reflection, there are a couple of items I'd like to add to my booth. I don't desire to have a large, fancy booth. I prefer to keep mine simple, but elegant. However, I absolutely must change my sign. I was actually slightly embarrassed by my sign as

opposed to some other beautifully designed and displayed business titles. Some of my colleagues shared that they made theirs by hand and they turned out wonderful. I think I will probably stick with having someone make mine unless and I am suddenly struck with a creative vision one day. Also, bistro tables were in abundance throughout the floor and after discussing

it with my assistant, Amy, I feel that could really add to the aura I am looking for and it will be a perfect spot to display my invitation book. I'm going to add a carpet as well, all in due time.

The Spring Bridal Show 2009

Last Sunday was the Spring Bridal Show that the Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley hosts in the spring and fall. This is the largest Bridal Show in Bryan/College Station. This was my second one to attend and it was just as much fun as last year's show. I met many blushing brides, a few grooms and thier mothers. All of our guests seemed to be having a great time! I also got to meet some new vendors as well as touch base with the great vendors that I enjoy knowing in this business. We had a much better turnout than we expected and that was a nice surprise. Some of my current clients came to the show with their moms and mothers-in-law to be and it is always good to see them! Overall, the show provided this wedding planner with more tools and ideas to make all my clients' wedding dreams come true!

Bridal Association of the Brazos Valley Bridal Show

Last Sunday I had my first booth at the Bridal Show. It was fun to watch a lot of wide-eyed brides looking around and seeming to be more overwhelmed than ever. I talked to many of them letting them know that I will simplify their planning process, help them choose vendors that will fit their tastes as well as their budgets, and I will make their big day stress free!! I gave away a free massage! I could have used that massage at the end of the day! Many people stopped to look at the beautiful picture of one of my brides in the bluebonnets. I had several people ask if I was a photographer. I told them that they didn't want me to take their pictures. Overall, I thought the show went well. I had a lot of fun. I saw a lot of people I know, I met some new vendors, did some networking and got some business.
